Thank you for considering Atkinson Memorial Church as the site for your wedding. We’re very proud of our beautiful sanctuary, including its historic Povey Brothers Studio stained glass windows. Atkinson Memorial Church was built in 1925 and is listed on the Register of Historic Places. The sanctuary seats 225-250; the balconies seat an additional 80.

Ministers & Music

You are welcome to have any officiate of your choice perform your wedding. If you would like a list of Unitarian Universalist ministers, we can provide one.

You might choose to hire our pianist or you may bring in a pianist. The church host will also be available to run a CD and provide a lapel microphone and a standing microphone with professional sound system.

Decorations and Photos

A pair of candelabras, a pair of white wicker flower baskets, and 16 pew clips are available for your use.

We place no restrictions on the type of photographs your photographer takes (flash is fine). Your photographer or videographer is given free range to photograph from our balconies or elsewhere within and outside the church. During summer months, you might also choose to take photos in the “Peace Park” across the street.

Rehearsal & Reception

We allow 1½ hours for rehearsal and decoration of the church, and three hours the day of the wedding. Additional time may be purchased.

We have also have a reception space available; ask for more information about this when you contact us.

Fees

• Building use: $500 (with an additional fee of $50/hr beyond the allotted 1½ hour rehearsal time and 3 hour wedding time);
• Church host (on-site throughout rehearsal and wedding): $85.00, with additional fee of $20/hr beyond the 1½ hour rehearsal time and the 3 hour allotted time for weddings);
• Custodian: $70.00;
• Organist (optional): $150

Additionally, a fully refundable security deposit in the amount of $150.00 is due when securing the wedding date with the church office. The deposit secures the date, and covers possible breakage or failure to comply with church policies. If there are no claims against the deposit, it will be refunded fully within two weeks following the ceremony.
